Twitter Remove the 140-character limit from Direct Messages

Twitter has now removed the limitation on characters in Direct Messaging.

Direct Messages allow you to have private conversations about everything that unfolds on Twitter. With the millions of tweets sent across the world every day and the endless stream of news instantly available, there are countless opportunities to strike up conversations about what’s going on.

Twitter say that the change is “another big step towards making the private side of Twitter even more powerful and fun.”

Normal Tweets will however continue to be 140 characters, forcing you to be creative with what message you want to deliver.

The change will continue to be rolled out across Twitter.com, TweetDeck and Twitter for Mac, as well as Android and iOS apps.
